Native Sun Natural Foods Market Welcomes
Customers to Third Annual Fall Open House
(11/18/2005)
On Thursday, November 17, Native Sun Natural Foods Market
hosted a tremendously successful Fall Open House to
welcome in the holidays and inspire guests with dozens
of delicious organic holiday offerings.
The event was standing room only, as more than 800
attendees enjoyed traditional holiday favorites like
fresh, organic free-range turkey, stuffing, Native Sun's
own "Killer Cranberry Sauce," mashed potatoes, green
bean casserole and sweet potato casserole. Other menu
items included vegetarian Quorn roasts and Tofurky,
a variety of colorful salads and side dishes, a selection
of hors d'oeuvres, snacks and holiday breads, as well
as sinful desserts, all prepared with organic ingredients
by the Native Sun culinary staff.
Each family received an organic cotton shopping bag
filled with samples and gifts provided by Native Sun
vendors in addition to the Native Sun Natural Foods Market
Holiday Recipe Book. The recipe book is filled with
favorite holiday recipes from the Native Sun staff,
complete with organic ingredient instructions. The cookbooks
are on sale at Native Sun Natural Foods Market through December.
The cost is $3 each and 100% of the proceeds will be
donated to "Memories of Love," a local charity that
fulfills the wishes of terminally ill adults.
A craft area was provided by Seaside Playgarden, a
Waldorf-inspired pre school in Jacksonville Beach. Throughout
the evening children enjoyed face painting and making
beeswax holiday candles.
Several prizes were given away throughout the evening
including gift baskets and massages. Guests also were
given the opportunity to win a $250 Native Sun gift
certificate. Tickets were sold for $1 each to benefit
the Seaside Playgarden. Native Sun matched the money
raised.
