Recipes - Seasoned Greens

Ingredients:
3 lbs kale or collards, steamed
3 tbsp. Spectrum Flax Oil
3 tbsp. Spectrum Naturals Seasoned Brown Rice Vinegar
2 tbsp. reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tsp. Spectrum Toasted Sesame Oil
2 tbsp. water 11/2 tsp. maple syrup

 

Great way to enrich your diet with flax oil and vegetables rich in beta carotene. The dark green leafy vegetables also contain high amounts of Omega 3 fatty acids.

Wash and drain the greens thoroughly. In a large pot, steam the greens for approximately 15 minutes until tender. Remove from the burner and allow to cool until greens can be handled. Chop up the greens, including the stems. Discard some of the bigger and tougher stems. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients. Mix in the chopped greens with the sesame vinaigrette. This can be served immediately while still warm or can be served as a cold leftover dish.
