Whole 30 Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

  • 1 – 1.5 lb. ground beef

  • 1 tbsp. avocado oil or olive oil

  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

  • 1 green pepper, finely diced

  • 1 medium white onion, finely diced

  • 2/3 c. Primal Kitchen Sweetener-Free Ketchup

  • 2 tbsp. coconut aminos

  • 1 and 1/2 tbsp. tomato paste

  • 2 tsp. dijon mustard

  • 1/2 c. beef broth

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil until hot and add minced garlic.

  2. Once the garlic begins to become fragrant, add ground beef, salt and pepper.

  3. Stir to break up and let slightly brown for 5 - 6 minutes.

  4. Drain excess fat.

  5. Return to the stove and add diced onion and green pepper and stir to combine.

  6. Allow to soften for about 2-3 minutes while you prepare the sauce.

  7. In a small bowl, combine Primal Kitchen Sweetener-Free Ketchup, coconut aminos, tomato paste, dijon mustard and beef broth.

  8. Pour sauce into the skillet over the beef and veggies and stir to combine.

  9. Continue cooking for 10-15 minutes until beef has cooked through, vegetables are soften and sauce has thickened.

  10. If sauce is too thin still, lower heat and allow to simmer to let excess liquid steam off.
